About the Event
On Friday, June 21 from 9am to noon, ASEDD (pronounced A-said: Awareness Support and Education about Dementia for Delta County) will host Delta’s Dementia Duck Dash at Cedaredge Town Park, in recognition of The Longest Day® — a national day of action symbolizing the long, emotional journey of dementia, also known as "The Long Goodbye."
The community is invited to participate in Delta’s Dementia Duck Dash, a lighthearted event with a meaningful purpose. Rubber ducks can be sponsored for $5 each or 5 for $20, with all proceeds backing ASEDD’s caregiver support programs, respite care, volunteer training, and dementia awareness efforts. Prizes will be awarded to the top-finishing ducks.
June 21 will focus on:
Recruiting local volunteers to assist with caregiver outreach, educational events and BOD participation
Providing awareness to families currently caring for loved ones with memory loss
Programs and resources about dementia in Delta County and Colorado
