Respite Care

Since ASEDD was born out of our love for others, we believe that caring for your loved one is a privilege. We know the importance of not loosing ourselves in the day to day. That's why our respite care services are designed to provide temporary relief so that you can recharge and continue providing the best care possible. Don't hesitate to ask for help, and let us help you prioritize your own wellbeing.

Apply today for up to 6 hours of respite care.

What is Respite Care?

Respite care is a special name for a short-term break for caregivers. When you look after someone who’s sick or disabled, it’s a 24-hour job. You need a break from time to time to look after your own needs. That’s where respite care can help.

Why do I need respite care?

Dementia caregiving requires emotional strength and resilience, which can take a toll on your own wellbeing. Our respite care service is here to take care of your loved one and offer you some much-needed free time. We are partnering with Touch of Care to provide FREE respite care to those who attend our Support Groups.

Touch of Care's team of caregivers is specially trained to provide individualized care for those with dementia. Take advantage of our community resources and receive up to six hours of respite care.

What is the process?

Ideally, we'd like to meet you (the CareGiver) first. We invite you to attend the Support Group closest to you. After attending, you can ask the facilitator for an application. Once the application is submitted, we will share with the Board of Directors, they review all requests and decide accordingly.

However, we are happy to expedite upon request.

What if I'm not able to leave long enough to attend a Support Group?

That's ok. We have resources for you, too. You can apply for respite care paid for directly from ASEDD. These funds are dependent on the support of our community and are available when we have them.
